Conductor: Jan Steenbrugge Promotion material for March 2005 concerts |
Posters and flyers (PDF files)
This sections provides a bunch of PDF files you can download and print to communicate about our March concerts. AcrobatReader v5.0 or higher is required to read them. This software is freely available on the Adobe website.
Getting the PDF files: just click on the appropriate version in the tables below, being aware that:
1. Depending on your browser's security parameter, you could not be able to see the file properly and get the message that the browser restricted the execution of some active content. In this case, you can safely allow the execution of those file's active content (there isn't any such content, and the reason for the message is somewhat obscure...).
2. You should use a black & white version of the PDF files for black & white printing. The Black&White rendering of the color versions could be very poor, if your printer does not support gray scales.Printing the PDF files: use the 'Print...' command within AcrobatReader, as follows:
1. Whenever printing a PDF file, always select a color printing (even when printing a Black&White file), and the best quality level. This is required for the grey scales to be rendered properly
2. Depending on your printer, you could have to select the 'Adjust to paper format' option in the print dialog of Acrobat Reader to get the whole content on a single page. This will not lower the result quality.13 March 2005 in Brussels

Mail templates (for both 13 and 19 March concerts)
This section provides BSO-branded e-mail templates, with many links to our website. You should use them to inform your friends and relatives about our March concerts. Detailed instructions are provided below.

How to use the mail templates ?
In any case, you can have a look on the template by click on the 'HTML File' links in the table below. All links will point to the orchestra website, where the last minute information is always available.
- First of all, you should not use it to mass-mail your address book. This would be SPAM (unsollicited e-mail), and would consequently be illegal. Please e-mail you friends and relatives (as many of them as you can) but use personnalized messages, and prefer numerous messages to individuals or short distribution lists. Your mails should not be confused with an automated unsollicitated e-mailing from the BSO.
- If you are using Microsoft Outlook (not Outlook Express!), or any other mail client which support '.msg' files):
- Click on the appropriate "MSG file" link in the table above. The template will open in Outlook, as a new message, ready for use. You could get a security message which can safely be bypassed.
- Edit and send it the usual way.
If the previous method fails, try the following workaround:
- Right-click on the HTML file, and select the "Save target as..." command. Save the file at any convenient place on your local disk.
- Create a new blank mail message, and select the 'Insert file...' command. Insert the previously saved HTML file, not as an attachment, but as text.
- Further edit and sent the mail as usually.
- If you are using Microsoft Outlook Express:
- Click on the appropriate 'HMTL file' in the table above
- Select all the content of the template, and copy it
- Paste it in the body of a blank message
- Change the format of your message to 'Rich Text (HTML)' in the 'Format' menu (otherwise, it would be received as unformatted text)
- Add your personnal message, fill in subject field and send the message.
- If you are using a WebMail service to send your e-mails:
- Click on the appropriate 'HMTL file' in the table above
- Select all the content of the template, and copy it
- Paste it in the body of a blank message
- Add your personnal message, fill in subject field and send the message.
Note: Cut&Paste of HTML content is unfortunately not always supported. If you're unlucky, the easiest solution is then probably to have the template sent to you (you'll have to ask a friend who can use one of the other methods, sorry for this), and just further forward it like any other e-mail.
