Jean Françaix (1912-1997)
Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra (1968)
(Ed. Musicales Transatlantiques)
1. Allegro
2. Scherzando
3. Andantino
4. AllegrissimoAlain Baudhuin, clarinet.
Jean Françaix’s music is strikingly light, joyful and elegant, which makes it accessible to all audiences. In spite of its success elsewhere, it is still unknown in Belgium. This concert performance of the Clarinet Concerto, one of Jean Françaix’s most popular works, is an exceptional event which we strongly recommend to all curious music-lovers (and of course to all lovers of the clarinet, too).
Alain Baudhuin and the Bruocsella Symphony Orchestra would like to thank Mr Jacques Françaix, the composer’s son, and Mrs Claude Françaix, the composer’s daughter, for supporting this project.
