Solist in Lalo's Symphonie Espagnol
Lei Wang, born in 1979 in Shaoxing, China, is a graduate from the famous Shanghai Music Conservatory. There she was taught by Professor Ding Zhi Nuo, Cai Rui Sheng and Zhang Le Yi. Currently she is a Masters student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where she studies with Professor Katalin Sebestyen and Zygmund Kowalski. She has participated in numerous Master Classes with Gil Shaham, Edward Grach and Jean Lenert.
Her career has already taken her all over the world, with music festivals in Japan (2001 Pacific Music Festival) and Switzerland ("Les Rencontres Musicales"), at the international Menuhin Music Academy in Blonay, and Morges (Cours International de Music). She is also a regular chamber music and solo performer in Shanghai and BrusselS, and has played in several world class Youth Orchestra's, with distinguished conductors such as Mstislav Rostropovitch and Seiji Ozawa. In 2002 she won the Vieuxtemps Violin Competition.
