Children’s concerts

Saturday 6 December (NL & FR) and Sunday 7 December (ENG & FR)

The Magic Toyshop

Step inside Charlie’s magical toy shop in Paris, where mechanical dolls and toys come to life after dark. From elegant Cossack and Mazurka dancing dolls to tin soldiers, music boxes and even toys inspired by video games, the shop is filled with wonder!

Charlie’s greatest creations, Harlequin and Columbine, are the pride of his collection. But when a misunderstanding threatens to separate them forever, it falls to Charlie’s teenage daughter Sophie – and a little magic – to help the dolls find their freedom.

The Bruocsella Symphony Orchestra invites you to a sparkling family concert accompanied by Respighi and Rossini’s La Boutique Fantasque alongside pop songs and video game music. Featuring Jan Debski (narration), Thomas Servanckx and Sarah Leclère (soloists), the Bruocsella dancers and children’s choir, and a special collaboration with the Akademie voor Muzische Kunsten Meise.

Under the baton of conductor Patrick Valls, stage director Jolijn Antonissen and choreography by Irina Yakousheva, Leen Vander Aa and Simon Charlier, The Magic Toyshop is a joyful, imaginative adventure for audiences of all ages.
