What we do

The Bruocsella Symphony Orchestra is an international group of amateur, professional, ex-professional and student musicians.

The BSO was set up as a non-profit organisation (ASBL/VZW) soon after with the aim of giving concerts for the benefit of charitable causes. Its members are all volunteers, and meet every week for their traditional Sunday evening rehearsal in Brussels.

The orchestra gives around six concerts a season: four children’s concerts in November or December, with narration in French, English and Dutch. In March or April, the orchestra is delighted to perform a concerto with a professional soloist, followed by a symphony. The season is rounded off with a summer concert in June.

We are also involved in a number of other projects – for example, accompanying young musicians as they take their first steps with a full symphony orchestra, or choral orchestral works.

Given the high level of mobility in Brussels’ international community, the BSO is constantly on the lookout for new members, particularly in the string section. If you would like any further information about joining the orchestra, or would like to book it for a charity event, please do not hesitate to contact its president at info@bso-orchestra.be.
