Step into the magical world of Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale, where friendship, love and loyalty are put to the ultimate test against the coldest of winters and the darkest of enchantments. Young Gerda and Kai are the best of friends, playing among the flowers in their rooftop garden and listening to their grandmother’s stories. But when a splinter from a wicked troll’s enchanted mirror lodges in Kai’s eye and heart, everything good and beautiful appears ugly and distorted. As bitterness and coldness take hold, the world itself seems to darken around him. When Kai falls under the spell of the mysterious and merciless Snow Queen, it is up to his best friend Gerda to embark on an extraordinary journey through a world of magic and adventure to bring him home.

The Bruocsella Symphony Orchestra invites you to a captivating family concert accompanied by Sergei Prokofiev’s most celebrated ballets and orchestral suites. Maestro Patrick Valls and Director Jake Vaughan bring you The Snow Queen – a mysterious musical adventure brought to life by an exceptional team of storytellers, singers and dancers. Featuring Jan Debski (narration), Laura Ford and Páidí Ó Dubháin (soloists), choreography by Michelle Peters, Elien Ooghe and Niloufar Shahisavandi, a special collaboration with the Sint-Pieters-Woluwe Academie voor Muziek, Woord en Dans, and the Bruocsella Children’s Choir and Choreo Group – Wrap up warm and join us for a magical winter adventure!
